When you’re looking for a hotel with a private hot tub near Paris, it’s easy to get lost: the photos all look the same, and so do the promises. Private, really?
The first and most important criterion: the hot tub must be in your own room, just for the two of you, with no need to book a slot. Be wary of adverts for a ‘private spa’ which actually refer to a communal area that can be hired by the hour. The size and location of the bath
A two-seater jacuzzi is the bare minimum for two people to enjoy it together. Also take a look at where it’s situated: built into the bathroom, in an alcove, facing the bed… Each location creates a different atmosphere. What’s around the hot tub
That’s where it all comes down to. A lovely evening for two doesn’t end with a bath: it begins with a gourmet dinner — here, Chef Cyril Ramon’s cuisine — continues in the privacy of the suite, and carries over the following day to the spa (sauna, steam room, couples’ massages) or along the paths of a 12-hectare park with its animals. A hotel with a jacuzzi that has nothing else to offer is a break that’s cut short.
Getting there from Paris
Charm shouldn’t come at the cost of hours’ drive. The estate is 45 minutes from Paris–Porte Maillot, in the French Vexin region (detailed itinerary) — far enough away for a change of scenery, yet close enough to set off on a Friday evening after work.
